Marie Rosencrantz (London) founded Rosencrantz & Co in 2009 and has since led successful client engagements for development finance institutions, private equity firms, development agencies and other clients. Before establishing Rosencrantz & Co, Marie Rosencrantz worked for the UK development finance institution CDC as Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) Manager. Marie Rosencrantz continued to serve CDC through Rosencrantz & Co as senior advisor, ESG and monitoring and evaluations.

Marie Rosencrantz has previously been employed at McKinsey & Company, the World Bank, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and the Swedish Foreign Service and Trade Council. She was the Swedish representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC) and Environmental Policy Committee (EPOC) and the Swedish Trade Commissioner to Italy.

While a consultant with McKinsey & Company, Marie Rosencrantz helped develop and implement key strategies and policies for the Global Fund during its first two years of operations, which are still in place today for this USD 21 billion international financing institution. With McKinsey & Company, Marie Rosencrantz also worked on engagements for corporate clients in pharmaceuticals, private equity and construction.

As the Swedish Trade Commissioner to Italy, Marie Rosencrantz turned a loss making office profitable by doubling client revenues in one year. Corporate clients of STC Italy, while Marie Rosencrantz was head of this STC country office, included firms across all industry sectors and size of business operations, notably in telecommunications, automotive, furniture, fashion, IT, industrials, media and financial services. Marie Rosencrantz extended the services of STC Italy to also cover client engagements in Albania, Libya and Malta.

Marie Rosencrantz worked on lending projects, econometric analysis and health studies for the World Bank, including at the country offices in Morocco and Indonesia. She participated in the World Bank's Young Professionals Program 2004-05 with assignments including a health study for Tunisia, design of a World Bank strategy for health, education and social protection for the Middle East and North Africa region, and preparations for a micro-finance program for Iran.

As a diplomat within the Swedish foreign service, Marie Rosencrantz was responsible for the economic and commercial sections of the Swedish embassies to Colombia, Ecuador and Italy.

As SRI Manager for CDC, Marie Rosencrantz helped develop and implement CDC's investment policy for environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters and CDC's monitoring and evaluation system for measuring the development effects of investments. She participated in CDC's Investment Committee for on-going advice on ESG matters for CDC's potential investment decisions and for current CDC investments.

Marie Rosencrantz served as non-executive director for Charity Rating, the Scandinavian donor support organisation, www.charityrating.org.

Marie Rosencrantz has an Economics B.A. degree from Stanford University, a B.A. degree in International Relations from the American University, a M.Sc. degree from the London School of Economics and a MBA degree from INSEAD. She has lived and worked in the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America and speaks English, French, Spanish, Italian, German and Portuguese in addition to her native Swedish.

Marie Rosencrantz owns the UK based Rosencrantz & Co Ltd and its Swedish subsidiary Rosencrantz & Co AB, where she is the chair of a board which also includes Goran E Larsson and Anna Nunziata.
